AFAQ is a non-profit organization registered in Turkey and applying effective sustainable programs for social and economic development through providing humanitarian aid to Syrians affected by violence, hunger, poverty, injury and displacement.
AFAQ Voluntary Initiative was launched in 2019 by a group of educated Syrian youth, who felt the pain and suffering of their displaced brothers, and they initially volunteered to help them with sincere efforts to relieve the pain and the hopeless feeling that controlled the souls of many people. The food, medicine and simple shelters “which AFAQ provided” had great impacts on their exhausted hearts.
Because escalation of the crisis and increasing in suffering, more people volunteered, to become the number of volunteered people more than fifty volunteers, trying to cover the northern of Syria. Accordingly, these volunteers established an organization called (Humanitarian AFAQ) based in Turkey in 2020 , through which they can move the humanitarian work forward to provide the needed services in protection, health, nutrition, livelihoods and other clusters that may make a difference in the lives of vulnerable people and assists them in their harsh reality.
Today, members of this entity are proud to deliver all needed humanitarian services within an institutional framework free from partisan or political subordination, thereby enhancing the confidence of their donors in various parts of the world, and developing a humanitarian work according to humanitarian international standards.
